Maybe a copy of our magazine H2O would help the new b/f and his family. I can send you a pdf if you can print it. I understand about letting your son get away with stuff. It's often easier to do that than deal with the meltdown. We all do it. But at some point you have to take the reins again and help him to learn how to work thru the meltdown. I'm still learning how to do it myself, and Sean is 10!!!

Close Autism / Autism Spectrum
I am a 29 yr. old single mom to a beautiful 2 1/2 year old son, who was diagnosed a few weeks ago with autism. He is non verbal at this time.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Considering
- I am slowly going to a whole foods diet.. this is something new to my household, but we are up to the challenge.
- Brushing Therapy Working / Worked
- My son does well with brushing and deep pressure massages help to. He is kind of under sensitive and really enjoys being rubbed and touched.
- Early Intervention Working / Worked
- This is helping alot, we started when my son was 27 months old. He has been getting Speech, Occupational and Developmental therapies once a week. We have a Developmental Psychologist coming out every other week to help with diet and such. We are considering horse therapy also.
- Occupational Therapy Working / Worked
- This is my favorite therapy so far (for my son ofcourse), he recieves this once a week.
- Patience Working / Worked
- This is hard, but I am learing to be more patient and understanding of my sons behaviors
- Picture / Word Schedules Considering
- I am working on this at the moment... a book to help my son make choices.
- Play Therapy Working / Worked
- once a week, it helps
- Sign Language Working / Worked
- The speech therapist helps alot with this, he signs the word "more" and "play" so far.
