Well I've been doing birth control …
Well I've been doing birth control pills for about a month now and supposed to start my period any day now... I went …
Okay, here's the deal. Hubby and I did things backwards...moved in together and BOOM discovered I was pregnant, and me, not wanting to be a pregnant bride, put off the official wedding. Well, now Eva's going on 5 months old and we also have to contend with the idea of baptism/christening. I am not especially religious, but my husband belongs to a church where it is a definite no no to have a child out of wedlock (strike one) and to be divorced (strike two), plus to get married you are required to undergo 6 months of premarital counselling/classes and I would likely have to get my marriage anulled (which is interesting, because as it is not a Catholic marriage, to them it doesn't even officially exist, so how can the Pope annull it?). One of their more liberal churches may baptise Eva (I guess they're facing the fact that attendance is falling off with most people only showing up at Christmas and Easter). So - quandary.
I am very tempted to go to the United Church (where I was baptised), which is very liberal (they ordain gay ministers and marry gay couples, just to give you an idea on how liberal they are) to have Eva baptised and to get married, should that ever happen (we can't even plan a weekend, somehow I think a wedding is beyond us right now). That way, we've dispensed with the whole Ukrainian Catholic hoop jumping and find a compromise. Baptism is very important to W's mother, but to be quite honest I don't think she really cares very much where or if we officially marry or not (W, being romantic, always reminds me that I'm already on the tax return, so why marry?).

Eva can be baptised in the church even if you are not married. All mine were.. We got married years later for insurance for me. we always did thing's backwards as well.
