Hugbook
High Five
I related to your post on education. I am in school and studying Social Work. It has given me a broader view of the world and is helping me to grow. I am doing a research paper on how witnessing domestic violence is child abuse. I am not a very good writer so I am struggling with my thesis statement and outline. I wanted to send you a hug and let you know I think you are inspiring and awesome.

Close Rape
I was raped on June 20th of 2003. Well, actually it was the wee hours of the morning of June 21st, but June 20th is the date that perpetually sticks in my head. Anyhow, I was raped by a stranger who had been lurking around my apartment complex for a few weeks. I honestly thought he had legitimate business there. That's how naive I was. So one night, I'm asleep on my couch, and someone bangs on my door. I think it's one of my neighbors and I just foolishly open the door. It's the lurker. So yeah.

- Talking Somewhat Helpful
- Five years later and I still can't just talk about it openly. I don't want it to affect my job as an advocate, so I stay pretty selective about who knows. I do feel better after I've decided to let someone in on what I stay so quiet about usually.
- Education (School) Working / Worked
- Changing my major to Criminal Justice was possibly the best therapy I could have taken on. Learning about the motivations behind violent and sex crimes was therapeutic in a way I cant really put my finger on. It gave me a sense of control because if I know WHY someone does something Im already one step ahead of that person. I have a passion for profiling and learned that not only can I help myself through this but I can help others too!
