Midwest gal who looonnggs for the ocean & West Coast. Had 1st episode Nov 1992; Dx w/ hosts of stuff, but docs kept coming back to BP. Hospitalized for 6 months (in/out of various). Had ECT. Went without therapy or meds for over a decade. Finally, starting to come to terms w/ me/my illness & wanted desperately to find others like me. 2 children ~ 4legged children that is, hound dog and pointer/lab dog. I'm so blessed to have them.~ 2 amazing friends.

Volunteer at local animal shelters...Enjoy educating the public about spay/neuter issues, animal kindness/treatment, raising $$ for the dogs (and cats)! Run 5Ks, trying to work my way up to a 10K. Recently started going back to church. Do TONS of reading/learning, etc. on the Mind/Body connection, Positive Thinking, & mental illness/God connection.

Hello there, I'm new. New to asking for help and new to the internet life of chat rooms. Attempted suicide 16 years ago, hospitalized for 6 months (in/out different hosp), 12 ECT treatments, been working 2 jobs for most of my life. 34 yrs old, family has recently advised me that I'm on my own. Near homeless, lease expires 12/31 and so does my job. Oh, I'm a manic-depressive, mostly depressed. I hope I can trust whoever is "out there" on the world wide web land w/ my stories.~
