Hi, I'm Mary.....I'm just now moving to Hot Springs, Ark from the Kansas City area. I have a wonderful daughter, Diane and 2 grandgirls and 1 grandboy. I was a Nurse Practioner for 27 yrs, now I love to read, work with flowers, gardens, and talking with my friends. I'm had MS for almost 9 yrs and just now I'm doing really good. I'm looking forward to meeting new people here and hearing some of the things that they're trying,

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Progressive Relapsing MSI'm Mary, I'm a mom, divorced, was a Nurse Practioner for 27yrs, and I've had MS for almost 9yrs now. I love flowers, reading, gardening, and just enjoying life.
Treatments
- Beta Interferon Somewhat Helpful
- I used this in the beginning and I didn't do well with it at all.
- Copaxone Working / Worked
- have been on Copaxone for several yrs and it's working great.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- I continue to use as needed when flaring
- Solumedrol Working / Worked
- For several yrs I was doing infusions every 3-4 mos but lately haven't had to do. Yes it works great for me, but I have issues from so much use of it.
- Zanaflex Working / Worked
- I take 75 mgs nightly to help with my spandisity and it works great
Close Diets & Weight Maintenance
I'm Mary and in the last 8 yrs I've gained 100#, I have MS since then and so much of the wt is from all the meds and the fact I don't have the strength to excercise I'm in need of a new system and encouragements too.
Treatments
- Atkins Diet Somewhat Helpful
- I lost 50# but it really took it's tole on me because of my MS. It has been 4yrs now and the wt is back on.
- Eating Healthier Foods Working / Worked
- works but still my metabolism is so low now I feel nothing helps
- Slim-Fast Working / Worked
- OMG it really works...10yrs ago I lost 100# with it, I was walking almost 5 miles a day too. before MS
