I am so sorry sweetie that you had to go through that. I have friends and realatives that don't understand either. I made a copy of an artice I found online. I think they get it not. I wish you a pain free day, take care & we are always here!

Here`s a bit of sunshine for your day. Thanks for writing to me. I too have constant head pain. I finally have found a little bit of relief with noritriptyline 75mg. Have you tried this? Do you have tn dx? Rosanne~

I have been taking trileptal now for a couple years. I have to keep increasing the dose when I had the pain. I still have to continue taking it for the next month or more. I still wont know if the gamma knife surgery worked till I am off the trileptal. Everyone seems to be so different with the TN. What works of one person doesnt work fo another.

Close Trigeminal Neuralgia
I don't have the "typical" trigeminal neuralgia--I basically have one nerve (the supraorbital) that is damaged and I have burning pain 24/7--but I do have attacks that make the pain 20 x (at least) worse. So I deal with pain (usually an 7-8) daily; and then some days am at a 10 all day long.
Treatments
- Gamma Knife Considering
- Have an appointment in a few weeks; am nervous!
- Nerve Blocks Somewhat Helpful
- At first they would last a few days; now only a few hours. Used to get steriods and lidocaine injected and the steriods left dents in my face. Now they have returned to normal (thank god)--but no more steriods for me. Now I just get lidocaine shots but have to really limit that b/c I'm getting too much scar tissue built up.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- worked for almost 2 yrs and then just stopped. neurologist said it could run its course
- Trileptal Not Working
- exterme fatigue and confusion also had nausea
Close Chronic Pain
chronic 24/7 intractable, MISERABLE pain around my supraorbital nerve (right smack in the middle of my forehead) and trigeminal neuralgia
