I spoke with my humanities instructor the other day regarding doing some extra credit, he agreed and said he would come up with the parameters for the assignment, he also said he is willing to meet with me prior to the next exam to help me be better prepared. My counselor with student support services is also willing to meet with me to assist me in this class. I have started writing out my instructor's power point presentations prior to class and that has helped a lot, I am also taping his lectures which should help me some as well. Not out of the woods yet, but feeling better about it. The paper I am doing is on the Hymns of Martin Luther

Keep working on it! Sounds like you are getting a handle on those studies & are working hard to accomplish that goal. What with everything else going on in your life, this is a major accomplishment! You go for it, friend!

Martin Luther! I was raised a Lutheran. Back during the 1950's when I was a child, there was still bad blood between Protestants and Catholics. Both camps thought they had the key to Truth. In our house, Martin Luther was revered. When I went to college and studied his life objectively and stripped of the theological halo, I wrote home to my parents in dismay, "In some ways, Martin Luther was a rat!" Among other rodent things he did, he ordered the slaughter of 20,000 peasants. In his older years, possibly suffering from dementia, he became a virulent anti-Semite. I have read the opinion that he influenced the Germans so much against the Jews, he could have paved the way for Hitler. He wrote a great many anti-Semitic treatises, vilifying the Jews. Not things I wanted to hear or believe about Luther. Of course, everyone who writes about historical figures has their own bias, their own axe to grind.
