Hug
Thanks for responding to my post. I have been wondering for a long time if anyone else felt the same way I do sometimes. I remember when I use to drink on the weekends. If I drank on Friday night, it would be Sunday before I felt like I could get out of bed. I think hepc had something to do with that too. I'm going to try the low carb/sugar like you suggested. Thanks again! hugs
Rainbow
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true! Thank you for thinking of me. You are such a sweetie!

I’m With You
hi elleeb!! i was just reading your post on the not doing treatment thing and wanted to thank ya for it as i'm sorta kinda in the same boat as you are with waiting. i just found out i have this crap a few months ago and long story short, i feel just fine, had a biopsy and my grade was 1+. so we decided to wait what with my age, 51, lack of symptoms and minimal liver damage. i was terrified of treatment as i've always had major depression issues and even those problems are not as big as they used to be as i take zoloft for depression. i did quit drinking alcohol, drink the heck out of water and trying unsuccessfully to improve my diet. that's a chore all by itself...lol. but thanks again and be well! Linda

Close Hepatitis C
I was diagnosed with Hep C in 1992 as a result of lab work and slightly elevated liver enzymes. I was never sick. I have been monitored regularly and have had five liver biopsies. There was basically little change and treatment was not recommended. I had a biopsy in August. The results indicated stage 2-3. I decided to start the treatment and began Sept. 9. My treatment was stopped Dec. 9 as i was a non responder and my blood CBC levels were extremely low.
Treatments
- Milk Thistle Somewhat Helpful
- Pegylated Interferon Not Working
- Ribavarin Not Working
- I was a non responder and was taken off the treatment. My biggest side effect was extreme fatigue.
Close Menopause
I am 61 years old and have Hepatitis C. I used progesterone cream years ago for a few years. Then I found a doctor that tested my hormone level from my saliva and I started using the bioidentical hormone cream. My doctor has moved and I am at a loss as to what to do.
Treatments
- Bioidentical Hormones Working / Worked
- I am very pleased with the bioidentical hormones. It worked and I had no side effects.
- Progesterone Cream Working / Worked
- It worked and I had no side effects.
Open Diets & Weight Maintenance
I have struggled with my weight since I was a little girl. I am 61 and want to lose 30 pounds. Jan. 1, 2006 I started doing a no sugar/no flour program. I also try to count the weight watchers points some. I lost 45 pounds that year. I gained some of the weight back, but have still kept off 31 pounds. I want to lose the rest of the weight and keep it off! When I follow the no sugar/no flour plan, I feel in balance and do not have food cravings.
Treatments
- Eating Healthier Foods Working / Worked
- I have always eaten and like fairly healthy foods. I like vegetables and salads. I bake and broil most foods.
- Eat Less Working / Worked
- Portion control has been a problem and I am trying to be more aware of how much I am eating.
- NutriSystem Working / Worked
- I did the NutriSystem program over 20 years ago. It was one of the worst decisions I ever made. I was at a good weight at the time but wanted to lose another 15 pounds. I lost the weight and looked great. However, I was always hungry. In the years that followed, I was unable to keep the weight off. I gained over 50 pounds!!! I feel that it messed up my metablism.
- Weight Watchers Working / Worked
- I have done Weight Watchers many times. It always helped and I still use a lot of what I learned in my every day life.
