hi Lisa,thanks for your concern it really does help,i do feel so isolated some times,my family are great but they are trying to make me a prisoner,i can't even go to the loo now without them asking whereare you going how long will you be,i know they are concerned and mean well,but it is hard,i have not had another episode since the last one,but i can,t seem to shake it off at all,still there are a lot of people worse off so i suppose i am lucky really,love and hugs,Helen.

Hi lIsa, yup my doc has the blood work and the DNA report to prove I have the lupus. I wish he were wrong, I will just have to deal with it. The reports ar ebeing sent to the rheumy so he will have the info he needs. I have no idea what this crap will do to me, any inof will be appreciated!! Hope you are feeling good. Hugs sandy

Lisa - I really agree with you on Mullen. I did watch eve`ry episode and this is the one and only that he mentioned RA.

Close Rheumatoid Arthritis
I was diagnosed with RA in March 2007. I started meds (MTX and Plaquenil) soon after. It took about 4 months to feel their effects, but they have helped. I've also had surgery on my right knee (arthoscopic), which helped a lot as well. The knees are still where most of the pain resides, but it's way more manageable. Hopefully someday I'll get to "Pain free!"
Treatments
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- used to counteract any side effects from MTX...seems to do the trick
- Methotrexate Working / Worked
- I switched to the MTX shot (8cc's per week). This helps prevent feeling queasy, which I would sometime on the oral meds. I have definitely had fewer flares since switching.
- Plaquenil Working / Worked
- It has helped to reduce the swelling.
