Hi Niki2008, I'm really glad that you're doing so well losing weight. I'm sure it hasn't been easy for you most of your life. You're still young and you have a lot more years to do and be an even greater person than you've been. Keep up the good work! I noticed that you work in an Alcohol and Drug facility. It's a long story - but briefly my 28 yr. old son was depressed after his wife left him in 2006. They had been together for 7 years. She left him for someone she works with. Sometime in 2007 a friend of his introduced him to Oxycontin and that's where his troubles began. We didn't know about his addiction as he lived in his own house on the west side of town. He ended up getting into some serious trouble and has been in a Detention Center since May 10th and will probably have to spend some time in prison. He's our only child and we're just devastated. We never dreamed that this could happen to us. My son can't believe it himself that a prescription pill can get you so addicted and make people do bad things. I can go into more detail if you really want to know the whole story. I didn't want to take away from what a great job you've done for yourself already. You seem like a smart, level headed person who I think can succeed at anything you put your mind too. Good Luck. Take Care. Georgia.

Well I have been overweight my entire life. At age 24 I suffered blood clots in my heart and then again at age 25. I had high blood pressure, high colesterol, no menstrual cycle and was heading for a quick death when i decided to have the surgery. I had my bypass on June 4, 2008 and it was the best decision I have ever made.

I have been obese my entire adult life and most of my childhood. At my largest I was 380 lbs. and that was on June 4th which was also the day that I went in to have my Gastric Bypass surgery.

I'm down to 270 now and am glad i did it but struggle every day. I have suffered from depression since I was about 12 years old and am so tired of it!
