I injured my back on Jan 2, 1988 by a fall down stairs. I hit 13 steps down on my tailbone, crushing it and compressing my spine badly. Have had back problems ever since and they are getting worse.
Treatments
- Bedrest Not Working
- Sometimes I use bedrest, but not often as it only seems to make things worse.
- Chiropractic Adjustment Somewhat Helpful
- This has helped when I have used it at times in the past
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- This helps with the pain and allows me to function.
- Ibuprofen Working / Worked
- This has helped in the past, but cannot use now due to pain levels too high for this to help.
- Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- Helps some.
- TENS Working / Worked
- This helps when i remember to attach it and use it.
Open Chronic Pain
I have fibromyalgia/OA/back pain that has lasted for 20+ years. I am now on a narcotic to control the pain.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Not Working
- Did not work for me. Shut me down as far as living life.
- Flexeril Working / Worked
- Works to help with the muscle spasms I get. But can only take at night.
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- Helps sometimes.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- Works for my breakthrough pain.
- TENS Working / Worked
- Works when I use it.
Open Fibromyalgia
I was "officialy" diagnosed with Fibro last year and have been searching for years for the cause of my all over pain. Has been getting progressivly worse the last 5 years. Now I have a doctor that believes in fibro and controlling it with pain meds.
Treatments
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- Helps with the muscle spasms mostly. Not so much with the daily pain.
- TENS Working / Worked
- Helps when I remember to use the machine. Can help pain levels to diminish when using it.
- Ultram Working / Worked
- This works to allow me to have my life back. I take 200-300 mg a day and I am able to function. Does not cause sleepiness in me and works wonders.
Open Hypothyroidism
I have been hypothyroid since 1995. Have used synthroid for 11 years and switched to armour thyroid 2 yrs ago and will NEVER go back to synthtic thyroid medication.
Treatments
- Armour Thyroid Working / Worked
- This works for me to not only control my thyroid levels, but to help keep my cholestrol levels where they belong without other medications.
- Synthroid Not Working
- Will never use again as it did not control my thyroid levels and also had many other medical problems that I do not have on armour thyroid.
Open Rosacea
Just diagnosed with Rosacea in Dec 07 and still learning how to control it. So far no meds needed.
Open Sleep Apnea
I was diagnosed with SA in March 04. Got a CPAP, was not compliant, did new sleep study 9-08 and have been using my machine ever since with good results.
