Pulmonary Emboli Mood
Thursday, October 9, 2008 | An Anxious story
I am a 47 year old type A personality that had a very serious case of pulmonary emboli 4 weeks ago.  I was in the hospital for 6 days with 15-20 blood clots in both my lungs.  Prior to this for 3 weeks my doctor told me I had chronic fatique syndrome and to go home and go to bed.  When I finally went to the ER I could barely talk because I was so short of breathe.  ER was very good at finding my problem.  Because I was not treated for 4 weeks I started having very servere panic attacks in the hospital.  They had to sedate me because I would shake so bad.  I never had problems with that before I had the PE problem; that part is getting better now!  My lungs hurt pretty bad on most days and it is worse at night.  Also, my heart started racing when I came home from the hospital so the dr. put me on Klonapin to slow my heart rate down so I can walk around a little better. I am on very limited mobilty right now.  I am some better; but pretty disappointed that I not that much better.  I don't have a family history of blood clots and I didn't have any clots in my legs.  The doctors don't know where they came from and that worries me some. Hoping to get some relieve soon!
