Thank you very much for your kindness, you are very sweet. I hope all is well with you and your son :)
Prayer
Im so sorry to hear how bad his HS is. My daughter has downs and HS but not as bad as your son's. You're in my prayers that the surgery goes well and his healing time is fast and incident free. Just curious what is he doing about school? In case you didnt know he can do school on line and then he wouldnt have to worry about missing classes, do it at his own time schedule. I have another daugther that has some issues and is doing online highschool. Good luck Kris

Keeping you guys in my prayers!!

I am a mother of a 17-year-old male who has had HS for about 2.5 years. He has tried multiple antibiotics, Accutane, laser treatments, and now is on Enbrel. He has been in the hospital many times at the Mayo Clinic, the U of MN, and Regions Burn Unit. He is currently in the hospital after having wide excision of both armpits on April 3. Skin grafting went well, but very painful at the doner site. Will have excision of the lower body around May 5.
Treatments
- Accutane Not Working
- Made things much worse.
- Bactrim DS Not Working
- Cured the inderlying infection, but no help with HS.
- Clindamycin Not Working
- Doxycycline Not Working
- Enbrel Working / Worked
- Has been the only thing that has worked. Not working as well as it did in the beginning.
- Hospitalization Working / Worked
- Was in the hospital 6 times in one year - 83 days. Constant treatment really helps.
- Hydromorphone Working / Worked
- Needed to get out of bed due to pain.
- Keflex Not Working
- Phototherapy Not Working
- Too painful to continue. 2 treatments with no results
- Surgery Working / Worked
- Wide area excision of both armpits and skin graft from thigh.
