LIVE*LAUGH*LOVE Battling PTC since 2/05. VP Shunt placed 3/7/08. Hypothyroid since 8/06 after removing right half of thyroid due to golf ball size node.

Close Pseudotumor Cerebri
PTC dx 2/05. Took 250mg of Diamox 2x a day for several years which was successful. Also have thyroid disease (Golf ball size nodule removed 8/06). Diamox caused severe kidney stones to the point that one had to be removed by surgery. Had to take heavy doses of antibiotics which my drs suspect made my pressure rise so severe that it caused vision loss and nerve palsy. Only hope was a VP shunt on 3/7/08. Worst PTC event occured after losing 40lbs. My drs believe weight not a factor.
Close Hypothyroidism
Found golf ball size thyroid nodule 7/06. Had nodule and right side of thyroid removed 8/06. Other half was working with 25 mcg of snythroid until recently.
Treatments
- Synthroid Not Working
- Was on 25mcg and now up to 50mcg.
