Went to see a knee specialist yesterday. I have had problems with my right knee for about a year now, with swelling and pain. Found out that I have a torn maniscus, which is going to require surgery. It is scheduled for the 13th of this month. I will only be down for about a week, so that's good. I can get back to work sooner than I thought. I will have to be in physical therapy for that week. I also went to a new GI doctor today. I really like him. I told him what I was expecting from him, right up front and he said he was okay with that. He didn't know much about the pancreas, and was not abreast of the new research going on, but I told him that I expected him to be on top of things if he was going to be my doctor. So he was cool with that too. We talked about the islet cell transplant, and as always, around here, I knew more about that than he did, which wasn't much at all, but while we were sitting there talking, he got online and read up on it a bit, because he didn't think that it was successful yet, but found out that it was. So, anyway, I am pleased with him. He said that there is nothing to be done with me right now, but what I am doing, which I expected. My pancreas is not that bad, except the head of it is damaged. I am having pain every day, again, for the past 2 weeks or so, but the delaudid is taking the edge off. Take care everyone. God loves you and so do I!!! God bless!
