Journal Entry for August 4, 2009 Mood
Tuesday, August 4, 2009 | A General Update story

So much has been going on lately, that has really kept me hopping, when I would much rather be sitting, or resting.  I have been in quite a bit of pain for a week or so and it doesn't seem to be letting up.  I have been taking my 2 mg. of delaudid every 3 hours, and phenergan with it because with the pain, I have been very nauseous.  It's strange that the delaudid doesn't make me sleepy, but the phenergan does.  I almost fell asleep a couple of times driving home from church the other day.  Scarey.

I have an appointment with a knee and joint specialist this morning at 9.  Hope he can find out what is going on with my knee.  I have had this reoccuring problem for over a year now.  It will hurt like crazy every once in awhile and then swell up to twice it's size.  I have had steriod pills for it, which helped for the time being, then one time when it swoll up, he put the steriod directly into my knee with a syringe, which also helped for a couple of days.  The reason my doc has sent me to a specialist is that he believes that I have a tear in the meniscus.  I do pray that it doesn't require surgery.

I still have my grandson here with me.  He has chosen to stay with me throughout the next school year.  I am trying to get his room straightened up now, so we can move his bed and dresser here. Since school starts, here, on the 15th, I tried to enroll him just recently.  Found out that his mom lost his shot records and his birth certificate, so I have to file for a new one, and then call the health dept. about seeing if I can get a copy of his shot records.  It's been awhile since I had one of my kids in school.  The price of everything has shot up!  I couldn't believe how much it cost just for the supplies that he needed!  Not counting the cost to enroll him, too.  Then I found out that he only has 1 pair of jeans, and the new package of socks that I just bought him has magically disappeared!  I am going to have to depend on God to find a way to get the money for his school clothing. God has never let me down or disappointed me, yet, and I don't believe He ever will.

I have an appointment in a couple of days with my new GI doctor.  I guess I will see if he is going to work or not.  I do not like being wrote off as a hopeless case, as I have been in the past with several other GI doctors.

Take care and God bless all of you.  Praying that you all have some pain free days ahead of you!  Love you all!
