Journal Entry for July 12, 2009 Mood
Sunday, July 12, 2009 | A General Update story

I guess I had my last celiac plexis block for now, since they don't seem to be working anymore.  I decided that I was going to make an effort in finding a GI doctor around here that would help me when I was in the hospital, that was willing to do the needed research, that would help me out with this disease, etc.  I will go through all of them in this area if I have to.  So far, I have been through 2 that have decided that I am a hopeless case and have chose not to work with me, and sent me elsewhere.  But I won't give up, even tho they have given up on me. One doctor even had the nerve to tell me that I would be lucky to live 2 years!  How dare he!!  Anyway, I decided that I am my own best advocate, in this matter.

The pain is every day now.  Stabbing pains as well as the constant, nagging pain.  So I usually take 2 mg. of delaudid every 3 - 4 hours now, and have been doing that for almost 3 - 4 weeks.

I told my boss at the Dollar General Store about my CP, and she had to tell the General Mgr. because every once in awhile they pull drug tests on who ever they want to, and with me taking delaudid, it's best they know the drugs that I take on an every day basis, and she was cool with it all.  She and I get along really well.  I really enjoy my job there and with Christmas coming I know it's going to really get busy.

Am enjoying my grandson being here, emensly.  He has been a big help to me, as well as great company.  He says that he has decided that he wants to live with me now.  I don't know how his mom is going to take it, but we shall see.  She said she was going to leave it up to him, last time I talked to her.  When he got here, he thought it was going to be like the rest of the times, when he came here for a weekend visit, not having to do any chores...being on vacation type of thing.  So I made sure that I set down the rules as soon as he got here.  He didn't like them too much, but he has stuck to them.  I have never had any problems with him, like his mom does.

I am looking forward to my son moving closer to me.  He was based in Virginia for several years, and have not gotten close to his children.  He has 4 of them now, but they will soon be moving to Missouri, which will be just a 3 hour drive from where I live.  He seems to think that they will be moved there by Christmas of this year. I can't wait! I haven't seen them in 2 years, so it will be a wonderful visit when I see them all.  I haven't met the new boys (twins) yet.  They just turned 9 months old on the 4th.  Can't wait to see them.  And the 2 older girls too! My son, his wife and all of their childrens' first names begin with a "J".  How uncanny.

That's about all the news I have for now.  Hope you are all having some pain free days.  God bless and keep you all.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I bet you can't wait to meet those little twins! My husband is a twin. My brother-in-law (the twin) and his wife have two sets of twin grandchildren. Their son has boy/girl twins and their daughter has girl twins. SO much fun and so adorable!
Hope you can find an awesome doctor soon! Keeping you in my prayers.

That is great your son moving closer to you, and twins,I have always fasinating to me.Two of the same little person!I don't have any in my family.
I was watching the "Sicko" docu. by Michael Moore yesterday and I had no idea our health care is in such bad shape, and the countries where everything is free,
even meds works a lot better than here, the people are less stressed and live longer.
Your Drs. should never give up on you.
I hope your pain eases. Hugs.
