About Me
I am medically retired, but work part time babysitting my grandchildren. I love all types of crafts, especially my new found talent of painting. I have 4 parakeets and a 1 yr. old rat terrier that keep me very busy and entertained. I had 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. My oldest son passed away in 2002 from alcoholic pancreatitis. All my children are now grown and on their own. I also have 8 grandchildren (twins were just born on Oct. 4th!). I lost my husband in 2003 from emphasema.

Close Pancreatitis
I started having pancreatitis in 2001, the first time with no pain, but thereafter, it has become very painful. I have been in the hospital many times, but each stay only lasts 3 days to a week. Not each time that I have pancreatitis do I have to go to the hospital. I can medicate myself at home. I almost live on Loratab now. We finally found that the reason I have chronic pancreatitis is that I have a malfunctioning sphincter of Odi.
Treatments
- Crestor Working / Worked
- I take 10 mg. per day. This is keeping my cholesterol down.
- Demerol Working / Worked
- The doctor stopped using this drug saying that it helped to rebound symptoms on my migraines.
- Metformin Somewhat Helpful
- I take 1 (500 MG) tablet twice daily. and have been taking them for several months. The doctor seems to think that they are helping, but I see no difference.
Close Migraine Headaches
I use to suffer from a migraine each week. I went to many doctors trying to find relief. Most of them would just give me a pain shot and send me home. Finally I was sent to a specialist and they started giving me pain blocks in my head, which helped for awhile, then I found a wonderful preventative medicine, and I very seldom get one, now...maybe one a year, if that! Thank you, Jesus!

- Worked for a short time.
- Imitrex Working / Worked
- The pills worked for awhile, then I had to take the stat dose. After awhile, that stopped working, so had to change drugs.
- Midrin Working / Worked
- Worked for a time.
- Relpax Working / Worked
- I am still using Relpax only when needed, and right now, it is needed very much. But I consider this medicine to be the best working of all that I have tried, and I believe that I have tried them all.
- Tylenol Not Working
- Did not help at all.
- Topamax Working / Worked
- 25 MG per day. I have taken this little Godsend since 2002 and it works beautifully with no side effects.

I was tested for sleep apnea just recently, because for a month I was so tired that I just couldn't function. I am now on oxygen at night.

Open Scoliosis
The doctors are now telling me, that because of my age, and the damage done, it is too late to do surgery to fix the curvature in my spine. They said that if they would have done something earlier, it could have been corrected. Now I am wondering why didn't a doctor tell me this while I was still young!

- I tried it, but I believe it was too late to correct the problem.
Open Incest Survivors
I was molested from the ages of 4 or 5 until I was 13. Now, at the age of 55, I am still in counseling, because of having relationship problems, as well as other problems, but for the first time, my counselor is telling me that I am getting very healthy. It's about time!!! So, what ever you do, don't ever give up on yourself! You are worth it!! I was!!
