My Mother fell last night.
She layed on the ground for almost two hours before my sister saw her.
She had been outside picking flowers and having gone down to get the mail.
They live in the country.
So the drveway is gravel.
The house is up on a hill.
My Mother broke her left hip area last July and now yesterday she has
broken her right upper femur.
She hasn't had anything to drink since before the fall.
They kept thinking she was going in for surgery last night so didn't give
her anything to drink.
But this morning her Doctor came in and said that she wouldn't be going
in for surgery until this afternoon.
But they were much quicker at giving her pain medicine then last time.
Last time she was in pain for several hours because the E.R. papers had
gotten lost in the transfer to the hospital room.
If this would have been later in the day and my sister and brother -inlaw
would have both been at work they could have come home and ran over
her.
Not expecting anyone to be on the driveway.
If it would have been a 80' day with a hot sun she would have gotten a
really bad sunburn.
Or it if it had been raining and she been laying there that long she
would have been drenched.
Several cars had gone by including a school bus and a neighbor lady and
a person who is part of the ambulance team, but none of them looked up
the driveway and saw her waving for help.
She put the paper under her head so she wasn't laying on the rocks.
Thank God for all the circumstances that made this better than it could have
been for a bad situation.
That just goes to show that even when bad things happen GOD is still
there.
Having sent His angels to comfort you in your hour/hours of need.
PRAISE GOD!!!
Dear Lord God, my Mother is laying in a hospital bed waiting on
surgery for a broken right femur.
Could you please give her all the comfort she needs and see to it that she
has the best medical team working on her giving her top notch medical
attention.
Lord God, help her to heal quickly and be able to get back to being able
to move around again.
She is getting up there in age (81).
I know that we humans don't heal as well as when we are young, but I
know you are the Almighty & Powerful God and a very Loving God.
I know that anything I ask of you in Jesus Holy and Precious name
you will do in the best interest of my Mother.
I believe it isn't her time to leave this earth yet or she could have been
gone by now.
So I trust that you still have a purpose yet for her on this earth.
I Thank you and Praise you Lord God for all that you are and all that
you do.
Lord God I ask nothing for myself at this time just that you wrap your
Loving arming of comfort around my Mother and reach in with your hands
and be the Doctors hands to mend my Mothers right femur.
I ask this all in Jesus Holy and Precious Name

Be strong, girlfriend. We both know God does not give us more than we can handle. It sounds like you are being brave and strong for your mother. Just know you and your mother are in my prayers. I know it's hard to see a good side to this, but at least it was her femur and not the actual hip joint. I know she will be ok, even though it may be a long road.

I am so sorry about your mom and will keep her in my prayers. I will also be praying that you will stay strong and healthy to be able to care for her. God believes in your strength to care for her and will not give you more than you can handle. Keep looking at the things that did happen and not the things that could have. Sometimes I do the same thing, but my husband always tells me that we could drive ourselves crazy thinking about what could have happened. Just take it day by day and you will get through this and so will your Mom. God Bless! Doris

You and your family are in my prayers as well. I went through this with my dad last year, same thing they live in the country and he went to get the mail. Mom did not know he had gone and just happened to look out the window and found him. He broke his hip then while in rehab he broke his other hip. If you need anyone to talk to about it just contact me I know how it feels.

You and your mom are in my thoghts. Take it one day at a time. Maybe she should have one of those alarms she can press when she needs help. My Mother'in'law got one since she fell and broke her hip- Hugs and best wishes.

I hope your mom has had her surgery and is on the mend now. I'm a little late posting. My mom falls alot and I worry that this may happen to her one day. We have to call the ambulance each time because they do not want you picking eldery people up when they fall. I am so glad you found your mom in time to get her some help. I will keep her and your family in my prayers.
