Good Day everyone!! it is another beautiful day here in Minnesota. The birds are singing and it is a bit windy. The trees are showing beautiful blossoms out my window. My cat is being such a lover these days since Lily is gone. I too feel so much freer. Monday I went to a group which meets once a week. At first I thought cool then do I really belong here. Then well it is only the first day give it a chance. They have a workbook that they go through but didn't that day because there was only 2 of us with the 2 leaders of the group. They are a fairly new group there. But usually have a bigger showing. Well anyway it went ok. Can't really talk about it much since it is one of those what is said there stays there. But the reason i felt I didn't belong there is because of the other person who was there and why they were there. Not sure how this group will help me yet. also there is supposed to be one of the leaders of that group coming to my house once a week to help me with skills. We will see what all that will entail and if I keep doing that. I have a new social worker and she is great. She is really going to work for me. She is very busy with my case try to do everything she can to make my life better. I'm happy to have her there for me. I mentioned this site to her and to the group. Maybe it will eventually help others too.
Don(Boyfriend) and I are talking about going for a walk together everyday to improve our health and hope to lose some belly fat. I hope we really do do that and make some progress.
Since Don started the Chantix he has been hungry more often. So any suggestions on how to help us out there because it is hard on a budget to have lots of healthy snacks around. I love to cook or bake so no problems there. Just dont' always think of right things to make. We both hate left overs so try really hard to not make big meals where there would be lots of leftovers because they end up getting thrown out if it ends up going past one time of reserve. We also have a 17 yr old boy in the house who eats like food is going out of style. Because of the GBS I had I have to becareful on the sugar intake and make sure I get in the protein. So it is kind of hard to accomodate everyones needs in the house without it affecting someone. I feel like I hide foods for me because I can't just eat everything and anything. At the same time I also tend to hide not so good for me food too. So I get some of what I buy. Any suggestions?
I want to help support Don on his choosing to quit smoking and wanting to loose some belly fat. Also I want to not lose the focus on my own issues which could be easy to do. Friends I hope you have to the time to help me out here and give me some feed back thanks!

If you're hungry and don't want to gain wait here's a few tips: drinks LOTS of water(6-8 glasses a day) exercise on a regular basis. This speeds up metabolism and gives an endorphin rush. Eat loads of fresh veggies and fruits. Big salads,with low fat dressing are filling and healthy too. I like to make smoothies as a snack-low fat or fat free yogurt,apples,banana,blueberries. Throw into blender with skim milk and crushed ice and waaala! A yummmy treat, good luck,Katie
