    • Close Fibromyalgia

Long and painful. Started with pinch nerve that was maybe cause by flu vaccine. Mostly sleep problems, fatigue, & muscle pains. Some IBS but under control. Extreme problems functioning due to physical limitations. Somewhat under control after 8 years extept for pain and fatigue.

      Treatments

      Acupressure Working / Worked
Use Trigger point therapy manual. Never enough but it does help.
      Acupuncture Working / Worked
2 years UCLA center East-West medicine (simulatanious with trigger point therapy). First treatment that helped but took 2-3 month to tell. Later went for just this treatment elsewhere. Looking for new therapist. Most aren't aggressive enough.
      Elavil Somewhat Helpful
Helps with sleep but side effect even at low dossage made me quit.
      Guaifenesin Not Working
Tried several times. Worthless as far as I'm concerned.
      Heat Working / Worked
Hot shower/bath everyday. Laying on electric blanket when weather permits.
      Neurontin Working / Worked
Great stuff. Affordable. Took a while and a higher dose to work. Drink plenty of water to avoid side effects.
      TENS Somewhat Helpful
Help regain some range of motion. Quit using it. May try again.
      Zostrix Working / Worked
Use when weather permits. Apply to trigger points 2-3 times/week. Avoid groin area. It took awhile to figure out how much to use. At first, it was quite painful but ice helps to squelch the pain. Good cheap way to treat my chronic myofascial pain.
      Drinking Water Working / Worked
Prevents side effects from taking Neurontin. Strange but seems to matter allot.
    • Close Myofascial Pain Syndrome

I've been suffering with chronic myofascial pain for over eight years along with fibromyalgia.

      Treatments

      Cyclobenzaprine Working / Worked
I have taken the pills but developed balance equilibrium problems. Now use it in topical cream from compounding pharmacist and use it directly on painful trigger points that get activated by physical activity.
