  Hello. I'm doing the reach-out thing here, looking for support from and to support others with this condition. I was hospitalized for my ulcerative colitis last month, as I was at the same time last year. I'd like to hear about your experiences, how you cope, etc. I just started imuran, and I fear the headaches. I'd like to know more about your experience with the drug. I opted for the imuran vs. humira, which has a 4% mortality rate. Plus the self-injection thing didn't exactly thrill me. Hope you have a nice weekend, Steve

  Thanks for the support. Food is the problem because I am also diabetic and the diet for UC is the opposite of that for diabetes. I am quite limited to what I can eat and as a result lost 60lbs. over the last 2 years. I am maintaining my weight now so thats a blessing!

  I remember when I was told I had UC in October of 2006 I thought the medication would be the cure all and as time went by realized at best it'll help me go into remission but as of now there is no cure and I was scared. It's hard in the beginning to wrap your mind around the disease but as time goes by and the medication starts working you start to relax a bit with it. I hope you are doing better!

  I am one of the few that hasn't had to deal with much abdominal pain. But I do know that what I eat and drink makes a big diff on how I feel and if I have pain. Have you tried any supplements? If you want you can send me a message and I can try and give you some advice on things you can try to help with the pain. I have many friends that are natural and western MD's that have helped me.....
