    • High Five

      From PamBe October 26, 2008

Michael is looking good. He has his good days and bad days but he is still fighting. His blood pressure, heartrate, respitory rate and fevers have all been good for the most part. He loves to go outside. The therapist feels like he is not in a persistant vegitative state because he is more aware of his surroundings. When I have the voice box on him it makes me sad because all I get is a lot of moaning and groaning but it is something for right now. We are hoping that the trach can be removed in a few weeks. That is what we were told. He moves around alot. He watches alot of TV. His eyes are always focused on the TV. When I talk to him, he looks right in my eyes and he trys so hard to talk back. That makes me want to cry. Michael was a big 260 and 5/11 when this accident took place on 8/9/08. Todays weight was 186. He still looks good though. Not to thin for him. His nickname was P.O.R.K. I think we are going to have to change that to S.L.I.M.

Michael has been doing OK. He is still moaning alot and he moves his legs and arms more than ever. I feel like he is going to be more alert soon. (I am hoping). He just started tracking items to the right and to the left today. I do not know if that is alert or not. I am sending updated photoes of him outside. You tell me what you think.

For the last two days, Michael has had a voice box on him for two hours at a time. He is moaning....I can hear him. He is tring to talk back to me. Everytime I talk to him he responds...it may be moaning right now but it is a start.

    • Close Endometriosis

I have had endometriosis since 1982. I have had 9 laparoscopy surgeries to remove the endometriosis; and I have also used several drug treatments to help control symptoms and alleviate painful periods caused by the disease.

      Treatments

Extended-Cycle Birth Control Working / Worked
      Laser Surgery Somewhat Helpful
      Ortho Evra Working / Worked
I was on the patch for almost a year and I gained 30lbs. I also developed 2 fibroid tumors, which is a side effect risk.
      Provera Too Soon to Tell
      Surgery Working / Worked
I have had 7 surgeries since 1982 to remove the endometriosis but it always came back and most times worse than before the surgery.
      Synarel Working / Worked
