24, recently diagnosed. I think my profile picture pretty much sums me up. My name's Brian and I'm basically lost. Trying to get my life in order before this disease was hard enough, but now its compounded. I will be applying to grad school in the field of college counseling and i hope it turns out to be something i can do for the rest of my life. It's hard to make any decision right now, especially one that determines your career for the future. *crosses fingers*

Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
recently diagnosed, thankfully not in pain but no significant improvements so far. I had a year of diarrhea and loose BMs and after finally getting checked out, it was diagnosed as colitis w/ ulceration. my current doc suspects it to be Crohn's.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- Difficult to really decide what to avoid, but it seems to be working.
- Azulfidine Not Working
- It has given me headaches, has not been effective, and exacerbated my diarrhea.
- Marijuana Working / Worked
- Medicating with Marijuana has been the most helpful so far. I have found a better strain of the plant and it has worked wonderfully, but is only temporary in terms of relief. I don't think this can be used for anything but maintenance. Side effects: being stupid, feeling much better. Highly recommended.
- Probiotics Not Working
- I have taken probiotics daily, and it has not once given me relief. Maybe i'm taking a cheap product, but it just doesnt seem to have any effect, good or bad.
