my name is June . cbridges is part of my deceased husbands name. i wear my hair very short because it is easier to take care of. Most days I don't want to do much to my hair.I have stocked up on food and water so I can stay home for awhile. The threat of Swine food has me being more cauteous because of the Lupus. i wore disposable gloves when shopping. I started out with a mask but that came off in a hurry, yuck!!!i am not in a panic at all because when My God wants me with him I am ready.!!! But why be careless, right?!
I am glad to be meeting more people from my Lupus group!!! i will have to chat sometime with more people too.
When I joined these groups I was just trying to want to continue living. I wasn't going to do anything stupid ofcourse I just was trying to want to go on after my husband passed away. I love my children dearly so I made them my reason to take care of myself and my kids are happy I am doing so well!! actually I have found I am enjoying living alone!! Life is so much less stressful too!!!I have only me to take care of. With my silly health problems I am a full time job,but my life is peaceful!!! lonely at times but I stay pretty busy in my groups on line and that is very satisfying to me!!! Hey June...I too wear my hair cropped short (my husband cuts it for me). I too find it liberating, for years I wore it long and once I hit 30 I chopped the lot off (lost a few other things along the way, but it's all good!). I don't fear death, but like you, am hanging in there a) my husband, b) my kids and c) I just like to see what happens next. Life is kind of like a book, you just have to keep turning the pages.
I am sorry you feel a little "overlooked" in the group. I don't find there are any "cliques", I think some people appear more regularly in the posts. There is a huge knowledge base and some pretty fiesty types. I was thinking today, whilst pottering around, there must be many people who don't make an appearance, but just read and gather support that way. I will try and be cognisant of that. I am sorry for the loss of your husband, but I am sure he would be proud of the way you are managing without him. Your kids will also gather strength from your example...love is eternal and life must go on.
Well, enough from me. I hope through the "boards" you will get to know more "Lupies"....have a lovely weekend....love, light and peace from the land of Aus.

Hiyas June, Great to read your journal I wear my hair in a pony tail as I like it long but dont have or can be bothered to preen it lol.
Been a while since we chatted but I am always there if you need a chat. Glad you are more happy and content now and getting used to being on your own.

Hello Mary!! No we haven't talked for awhile!! I was kind of over loaded with too many groups. I got rid of one and am adjusting better with the ones I like now!! Yes My whole life has been abt taking care of everyone else like most moms. It is new to just take care of me now!! I find at 67 nearly 68 I am liking it!! This is a new stage of my life!!The only thing I would change is living so far from my kids and don't see them near enough. I can't afford to go visit them either!!My youngest son came to visit three times this last year. He is sweet but spent most of the time with friends. My having to sit in my chair so much gets him down so he needs to visit friends and get out. I understand. We had some nice visits too though.He took me out for brkfst a lot too. That I always enjoy!! I am not eating out or going out around people much with this Swine flu scare. I am not real worried just being cauteous is all. I stocked up on food and water yesterday. I wore disposable gloves and a mask but the mask bugged me so took it off and prayed no one coughed . Some of us are wondering if someone is mixing three diseases together to see how many people they can kill off. They are testing the waters so to speak!! It could get worse!! I am not trying to get a panic going just hoping everyone is washing hands a lot and keeping hand sanitizers handy and use a lot!! hugs !!! June.
