12 Step Program Working / Worked
I try to do 5 things every day to the best of my ability. I go to meetings, read the Big Book, work the steps with my sponsor, maintain conscious contact with God, and practice the spiritual principles of the program and carry tis message to other alcoholics who still suffer. I was told that if I did these 5 things to the best of my ability everyday for the rest of my life, then I would never have to worry ever again about taking another drink or drug for the rest of my life.
      AA Meetings Working / Worked
I still attend 2 to 3 meetings a week. I have a sponsor. I work the steps daily. And I try to help others whenever I can.
      Detox Working / Worked
Horrible! I detoxed off heroin in 4 days and they didn't give me anyhting to help me.
    • Close Bipolar Disorder

I can't even tell you how long I have suffered from this problem. I can say that it was almost 10 years ago that I joined the street people because of my heroin usage wound up sleeping under a bridge in Dallas for 3 years. I just got to the point where I couldn't handle anything any more. I can't work because of my problems and I'm on disability. I drove my famility away from me 20 years ago. That's it sometimes I just think I'm totally crazy and don't fit in anywhere, so I don't try any more.
