I have been on oxygen 24/7 since 2002. Diagnosed with emphysema in the 90's but didn't quit smoking until 2002. Live alone with my golden retriever mix dog. With help from my family, am able to keep my housework up. I only shop where I can push a cart. The carts are getting harder to push so I grocery shop more often. I need someone with me to go to a mall. Have 2 sons, a daughter who live close. One son and my daughter are both respiratory therapists at a large hospital. My son's wife is a critical care nurse at the same hospital.

Close COPD & Emphysema
69 years old female. On oxygen 24/7 for 7 years at 3-4 litres.. Live alone with my dog. Doing my own shopping, housework. Need assistance with some housework. Feel pretty okay most of the time, but do get sob on occasion. Need assistance with grocery shopping as the cart gets too heavy to push. Lungs at 28%. Some days it seems I do everything in slow motion. Others I'm okay (for me)

- Advair Working / Worked
- WAs hoarse for year. That cleared up when I switched to symbicort. Advair seemed to cause
- Duoneb Working / Worked
- Pulmicort Working / Worked
- Keep in purse for emergencies
- Spiriva Working / Worked
- works well
- Symbicort Working / Worked
- works well
- Xopenex Working / Worked
- works well but provider switched me to Duoneb and isn't carrying Xopenex due to cost. $400/mo and I can't afford on my own.am on Medicare
Close GERD & Heartburn
Have COPD, large hiatal hernia and Gerd for years. I control with my diet most of the time. Occasionally take Prevacid. Try not to take it very often. Very expensive and I am concerned about the issues with calcium.
