Yesterday Mood
Sunday, November 23, 2008 | A Painful story
I saw my Dad yesterday. He's not good. He's so skinny, except for his belly which is all bloated from the cancer. He's tired alot and he kept having to lay down. But my Stepmom is taking wonderful care of him. She's got him all set up in the music room. He's got a blanket for when he naps on the couch. Has his TV remote right next to him. Also, one of him 5 guitars is on a guitar stand right next to the couch. I asked him if he had been playing and he said no, he hadn't had the energy. He also has this HUGE basket filled with goodies like cookies, crackers, candy. He has a big sweet tooth. That's probably where I get mine! On Tuesday, he goes to the Dr. and that's when we find out weather or not to continue with chemotherapy. I plan on going to this appointment with him. I have some questions for his doctor. My Dad told me his doctor/Oncologist was a bitch with absolutely no bedside manner whatsoever! My first question for her is going to to be , "why isn't he being referred to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center or to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance?" I mean hell, we live in Seattle and we have the BEST cancer centers in the entire US! Anyway, it was very good to see him, even tho he isn't the same. He's still my Daddy.

I'm so sorry about your dad, but he sounds like a real strong person. You are fantastic for sticking up for him like that, you show that Dr you mean business, your dad deserves the best care available to him! *hugs* My thoughts go out to you during this rough time :)
