About Me
My name is Amy, and I am 45 years old, and I have Crohn's Disease. I am happily married with three stepsons, and I have six beautiful grandchildren. I am a Purchasing Manager for the company I work for, and I really love my job. I was in the hospital three times in 2005 for five days at a time, and I was finally diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. Before 2005 thinking back, I was having little flair ups off and on and didn't realize what was going on with my body. I want to be the one in control...not the Crohn's!

hey, good to hear you are doing ok, better than bad right.. i still pop on from time to time as well... i am expecting a baby in 3 weeks, a boy..have not had any flares or problems my entire pregnancy, I hope it stays that way after he is born.. I have heard mixed things so I am a bit nervous!

Sorry to hear about your problems affecting your sinuses. It's good you found the cause though. Had a lovely weekend, apart from the fact I am in alot of pain in my left knee. I was out walking for over three hours with my dog along the beach yesterday, which probably hasn't helped :-( I have osteo arthritis so am not sure if that's the problem. Do you suffer any joint pain? Strange you can't write on my wall on f b. It may be easier if you send me an email on there. Take care. x x x x x x

Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I have chronic Crohn's Disease. I was diagnosed in 2005. I am currently on Humira Shots once a week, taking Prednisone, Hyomax, and I am on Cymbalta for depression/anxiety. I want to be in remission!!!
Treatments
- Asacol Not Working
- This actually made my flairs worse!!!
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- I am right now on a low fiber diet, and it has helped me since I have been out of the hospital on August 29th.
- Azulfidine Not Working
- I had an allergic reaction to this in 2005 and it gave me a very bad case of pancreatitis. I was in the hospital 6 days with high liver levels.
- Colazal Not Working
- This was the first medication I was tried on in 2005, and it did NOTHING for me and was very expensive.
- Flagyl Working / Worked
- when I am on this, yes, it works. Normally they put me on this when I end up in the hospital with flairs.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- I am on this right now again. When my GI has me on this, it does work when I have flairs.
- Remicade Not Working
- I was on this for 1 year. I ended up getting a skin condition, and the treatments never did really help as well as what the HUMIRA did.
Close Smoking Addiction & Recovery
I've smoked for over 20 years now. Quit once for three years on Zyban, but started smoking again. Trying Chantix now to stop smoking...

- I don't have willpower....
