6 month anniversary Mood
Sunday, March 15, 2009 | A General Update story

Today is my 6 month surgiversary. I had my gastric bypass surgary 6 months ago today. I started this journey weighing 347 pounds and today I weighed 245. I have lost in 6 months time 102 pounds. Can you believe it? I am so happy. I still have around 70 pounds to go but I am so excited to have come this far. So I thought I might do some positives and maybe a few negatives here today.

postives

1. I am no longer diabetic

2. I no longer need massive doses of heart regulator/pulse lowering meds.

3. I can bend down easier

4. I wear a smaller size

5. I feel better

6. I can put on my shoes, and socks too without hurting myself

7. I can actually cross my legs like a girl

negatives

1. right now all the flab is bothering me, but hopefully with more time and weight loss all of the loose stuff will shrink up a bit.

Thats about it for negatives, I am just bothered right now by all the hanging stuff off my arms and now as I lose more I am also hating my thighs. I never thought I would consider plastic surgery but I can honestly say now that I am really thinking about it someday in the future. There were things I had really hoped would get better with surgey that did not. My fibromyalgia is still here and still kicks my ass. I hurt still and it makes it difficult to exercise and do things. No one ever said surgery would cure it but I thought losing all the weight surely would help and it has not. BUT, the weight loss has helped my osteo arthritis because I am carrying around 102 pounds less and my body SOOOOOO appreciates that....lol

I am amazed at how far I have come in so little time and I can not "weight" to see how far I will go.
