Close Shyness

I'm a mental health nurse and have suffered from shyness from my teens. I've overcome a lot but still have issues.

Treatments

Positive Thinking Working / Worked

Have to remind myself to think positively and not let my anxiety get the better of me. It usually works.

Self-help Somewhat Helpful

Self hypnosis and re-educating myself about some negative ideas, does help.

Socializing Somewhat Helpful

Meeting new people always helps. Being friendly with people and having the conversation flow is brilliant - a positive attitude is needed. Always initially nerve-wracking and difficult - especially when you speak to the wrong person and they make you feel like rubbish - move away quickly it's them not you! What I have found over the years is that this is the one that seems the most difficult everytime (!) but actually isn't.
