First snow of the season Mood
Saturday, October 24, 2009 | A General Update story

Hi all

Got up early this morning to pouring rain and after about 2 hours it turned into great huge, fat, fluffy flakes of snow.  You know the kind that just barely covers the trees and grass.  Looks pretty.  Winter however, is my least favorite season.  Fear of falling and now that I'm older the cold bothers me more.  When I was young, I loved the cold weather.

Got my new walker on Thursday.  I am going to practice walking in the hallways of my building to start.  Will build up stamina over time.  Not rushing, I am so grateful to have this device to help me.

Have had a very quiet week, on different days my daughter and grandson came and visited and spent the night.  Went to the Dr. Thursday and got a seasonal flu shot.  Doctor told me he hadn't seen me looking so good since he knew me.  That made me feel even better.  I know it is all about the change we made last month in my antidepressants.

I am on Day 150 today...that feels super too!!  I have been really blessed of late.  No major drama or things I am struggling to handle.  Have not worried about anything.  Course there is never enough money to get to the end of the month but at least it is being used responsibly again.

Got my computer and stuff all moved to my new workstation and I am so enjoying it.  It is a little large for my small space but I feel like I have lots of room to do what I want to do.

I am happy to see my DS friends have been doing well lately.  Gams I don't know where you get your energy.  You too Deb, with Jordan and work and all...good job.

I always love Mike's sharing with the newcomers even when he is not having a good day.

All the rest of you too, nobody seems to be in a struggle of late, except for the newcomers.

We welcome you all into our little family.  Please come often, daily if possible and read journals and discussions.  It won't take very long for you to find every one else has been through the same emotions, pain, confusion as you.  We have been able to cope one day at a time with support from each other.  That is the real secret, it is almost impossible to do this recovery business alone.

Wishing you all a great 24 and I will take one for myself.

Blessings

Mary

Hope you stay warm Seren. When I was a little girl we lived where it snowed each winter. While I like to see it now and then, I've gotten spoiled on the warmer climate. Glad you have family to come and stay over night with you. That is really, really nice. Take care, do as you can with your new walker... I think consistency is the key. Building stamina is a great thing. {{hugs}} on a Saturday. debs
