Well I am pretty excited to start exercising more and dieting. I am hoping it will not only help my crohn's and endometriosis, but that it will help me feel better about myself. I decided to begin doing all of this two days ago. I want to be in a swimsuit this summer and not be self conscious. I don't want to be worried about what a potential lover will think of me if we become intimate. I want to feel pretty. So I began doing yoga in the mornings and pilates at night. The pilates dvd is 35 minutes long, with the first half of the dvd being standing pilates, and the second half mat/floor work. I have not made it past 12 minutes of the dvd haha. It just kicks my butt! The yoga I can totally get through. But the cardio involved with the pilates is just intense. It's a beginner's dvd, and I am going to eventually be able to get through it, but it's just pretty hard right now. I have decided until I get used to it more, I will do yoga every morning, and pilates every other evening.
I also have some worries. Addictions of all types run on both sides of my family, and this includes anorexia. My cousin is a MAJOR anorexic and she is very supportive of my decision to lose weight. I am 5'5" at 162 pounds. She is 5'4" at 95 pounds. I want her support and love with this, but I am worried I will get desperate to the point where her advice will start sound good to me. Her advice being to start eating 1000 calories this week, and drop it by 100 every week until I get to 700. That just seems a bit intense.
So I am looking for ANY tips from you all regarding exercise, dieting and whatever else. Thank you guys so much!!!!!!!
UPDATED GOALS

Hey! 700 calories is not enough to sustain you. It will send your body into starvation mode rather than weight loss mode. And with Crohns, we have problems absorbing and processing the right vitamins and minerals, so such a severe reduction in calories ain't gonna be good. This is just my personal understanding of things, I'm no expert! I think the minimum calories for weight loss is 1200 per day, most of which should be protein and complex carbohydrates. That's about as much as I know, and I know that when I can stick to that, I do lose some weight and feel better.
I have trouble with exercise, but gentle stuff like pilates, yoga, tai chi are all good places to start (I have dodgy knees - can't do yoga very well!)
Good luck with it. *hugs*
