8:37am Sunday
Well my next appointment with my GI is January 9th. We will be discussing starting Remicade infusions. I am excited but nervous at the same time. I'm pissed I became allergic to the Imuran...and the rash hasn't gone away yet. Lame!!!! Oh well. One of these days it will. I have labs to be done the week of the 9th and besides that, no other appointments. I am still in a lot of pain. Physically and emotionally. I have reached a breaking point with it all and I am seriously considering applying for disability this week, just to see what happens. I feel as though my quality of life has escaped me. I don't remember what it's like to be genuinely happy. I just wake up each day in more pain than the last. I can only hope the Remicade helps!!! Oh, as an update, weight is now 163lbs. I feel disgusting.

I know it's A LOT easier said than done, but you have to try to stay positive. I was diagnosed with Crohn's when I was 20-21 yrs old, and I'm now 28. Hopefully the Remicade will help you! I know it helped me tremendously for 5 1/2 years. It is expensive (my health ins. co. was billed approx. $5,000 for each treatment).
I wish you all the best of luck!!! Keep your chin up!

I hope and pray that the Remicade works for you. I wish you a pain-free 2009. I'm so sorry you're in so much pain both physically and emotionally. It's so hard when everything feels like it's just crashed down and ya just have to get through every minute, every hour, every day.
I think it's a good idea to at least look into applying for disability. Get the forms, find out what you might be eligible for. That's what disability is there for, to help us when we're so far down.
*hugs*

I agree with ZenEm- I think you need to really look in to disabilty. My rem infusions were $6750.00 a pop. Have you qualified for medicaide or any type of help? I think the company that makes REm has an indigent program- they might be able to help. Sorry you've had such sh@tty luck! (no pun intended)
Hugs-
