was tested for lupus ..doc. says no..thanks for your input its helpful...i am really new to this just a week in knowing i have R.A...so at times i get info over load..lol..i am taking 10mg of prednisone...only on it for a week come this wednsday..doesnt seem to help an awful lot tho.

I'm struggling with a pred belly too. :( I tried on my last years fall clothes and I can barely squeeze into anything. I'm down to 3 mgs of pred and I can't lose an ounce.

You made me laugh about the bed spins! I haven't had those but I got myself a real head banger of a headache after just 1 martini recently! I'm swearing off for awhile. I have an RD appt. and a GP appt. for a physical, both mid October. Both will be taking blood.

Close Rheumatoid Arthritis
I'm Lori, I am 37, and I was diagnosed with RA in Sept, 07. Since first diagnosed with Sero Negative RA, I have tried both traditional and alternative treatments. The Flares have had a significant impact on my abilities both personal and work related and I am considering short term disability at this time, but I don't think that my doctor is too supportive of this option, because he wants to continue to experiment w/the meds, I just don't think he gets how bad I feel.
Treatments
- Celebrex Working / Worked
- Seemed to work at first and then not as well as time went on.
- Methotrexate Not Working
- went from 10mg oral per week to 15ml injectible per week - huge flare, no releif felt yet. 7 weeks into mtx treatment. Oral treatment created significant acid reflux issues, significant pain in chest area.
- Prednisone Somewhat Helpful
- had to increase from 10mg daily to 20 mg daily, still not feeling a big impact, not working as well as it use to.
- Voltaren Working / Worked
- Worked, but made me extremely dizzy. great if you can sleep all day.
