Close Lung Cancer
Rod was diagnosed Oct 29th 2007 with stage 4 lung cancer. He took 8 doses of chemo w/good results. Then during his chemo vacation the cancer started to grow. He has had 15 radiation treatments and we are waiting for 8 weeks to get a PET scan. However, the pain has increased in non-pain areas so we are doing a bone scan Friday. Results of that will tell us if we need to cease waiting for the PET and get started with the chemo now. He is working full time and manages his pain with meds.
Treatments
- Carboplatin Working / Worked
- Worked well, side effects very manageable with anti-nausea drugs. 1st 6 tx worked well, followed with 2 more, appeared no change.
- Chemotherapy Working / Worked
- Used Carboplatin and taxol.
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- Helpful in reducing worst pain. Side effects in throat uncomfortable.
