Its here again.Its Halloween! When I was little my favorite holiday was always halloween.We never had money for fancy cosumes but I always had something to wear come Halloween night. One year when my dad worked for a group of nuns,he got me some of their old outfits and i went as a nun to school.The next year I went as a french maid. These were back in the good old days (not so long ago) when it didnt matter where you bought your costume or what candy was in your pillow case.I'm only 25 but with 3 kids of my own to take Trick-or-Treating now I see all the differences.Now days all the kids go to Walmart to buy their costumes and they all have the same ones. They dont carry pillow cases anymore either.They all carry those little plastic pumpkins of assorted colors. Its become another "cookie cutter holiday". Everyone looks the same and does the same thing and it just doesn't seem as fun. What happened to the trick part of halloween? There are no more harmless pranks and funny tricks. What happened to the days when you would hide in your neighbors bushes(the ones who gave the worst stuff) and waited for them to come to the door so u could throw water balloons at them? I watched the Halloween marathon of Roseanne last night and it made me miss the days when halloween was thoughtful. People used to have big parties and plan for them all month.Now you cant even wear your costume to school.It's not even called a Halloween Party anymore it's called a fall party. I hope to see some thoughtful costumes and pranksters about tonight when I take my kids out but I seriuosly doubt that I will considering that todays youth has no sense of creativity.So I ask you all my friends here at DS, what are favorite Halloween memories? and what the hell happened to the could old days when Halloween was something to look forward to and not just another day when you got rewarded for nothing?

I was never into dressing up for Halloween.......I preferred watching the horror movies though. And the Roseanne Halloween episodes are the best.

Well my favorite was when you dressed me up in the trash bag and then said there was s urprise utside for me then pushed me into a pile of leaves, That was great. At the time.. not so much. LoL. But your right about the costumes. People are so gay abpout them. Thats why I never get one :)
