Dr. Visit Mood
Wednesday, October 7, 2009 | A General Update story
Saw my Rhuemy last Wednesday. Had a 45 minute visit with her and we went over a lot of things. I will be staying on Enbrel until the end of the year. If I do not have a big improvement by then I will have to start Orencia infusions the first of the year. Had my usual blood draws. Had my seasonal flu shot and waiting for the H1N1 shot!!! I will be going back to PT to strengthen the muscles above and below my knees. I am only to use my legs for transfers to and from my chair and if possible walk a few steps to toilet, bed, etc.  Will be starting OT again to work on hand function only. We will be be taking a wait and see attitude about my throat. If it flares again I will have to have it scoped. I love my Rhuemy!! She had a meeting with a new durable equipment company and she and the company are going to bat for me on a new chair!!! Fingers crossed if I could here. Got a call for Rheumy office yesterday that my Vit. D leavel is low, so add another pill to the list!!!! Guess that is it for now. Cold weather is setting in here. I dread being trapped in the house all winter. Maybe next year I can get a ramp, it would be nice and safer.

Hi Jamie, Sorry I've been a bit spasmodic on here of late, but I'm hoping that Enbrel does kick in for you. Fingers crossed a new chair comes your way soon! It's going to be hard getting the natural Vit D with winter coming - snuggle up well. Glad to hear you have a great relationship with your rheumy - makes sooooo much difference. All the best.

Hi Jamie, I read your journal. I sure hope your Doctor can help you get that new chair that you need. I also hope the Enbrel does the job for you. It seems like you have been through so awful much! I do miss hearing from you the way it used to be. Sounds like you have a lot of therapy to go through. I hope and pray things get better for you pretty soon! Sending this with love and best wishes.
