It is race week around here. The Talladega International Speedway is gearing up for the big race this weekend. Thousands of race fans have made out little town busy. All the restraunts are packed and the Oxford Walmart can't keep up with the onslaught of fans scrambling to purchase beer and grilling supplies before Sunday. ( We don't sell beer or wine on Sunday's in Alabama). Welcome Race Fan signs are up all over town! Race cars are on display and the air is full of excitement. I love Fall!

Downtown Oxford is hosting their annual Oxford Fest today.This has been the kick off for fall in our town for years. We close our main street and vendors from all over the south set up tents to sell thier wares, hand made soaps, birdhouses, brooms, candles, hairbows, art work, are some of the items sold ,along with my favorites , fried apple pies, and funnel cakes! Huge bags of apples and beautiful pots of mums await the chance to be taken home . The twang of Blue grass music and southern gospel rise and fall like waves on the shore.The smells and sounds awake even the dullest of senses to the fact that Fall has arrived! Oh and did I mention,
