I am sorry that you lost your dad. I want to let you know that time will heal you.
I lost my dad for a bladder cancer in January 6th in 2009. I am still wondering where he is. It is not easy for me to think that he is gone.
I understand how you feel and please talk about him more how he was like.

Close Bladder Cancer
He's now 70, and had a massive heart attack in 1988. His heart cant handle any treatments. He's letting it take it's course.
Close Anxiety
I have anxiety attacks, sometimes for even no reason at all, sometimes for a reason. I get heart palpitations and shallow breath it makes it that more difficult. I've been on tons of meds, and am tired of them putting me on ones that cause side effects when I feel I know exactly what meds will help but the doctors wont put me on them.
Treatments
- Wellbutrin Somewhat Helpful
- It was prescribed for my insomnia also to help with my heart palpitations sometimes it helps with the insomnia but it can sometimes cause really vivid night terrors. So now Im trying to get off of it.
- Ativan Not Working
- went from .5 up to 2mg and didn't do anything.
- BuSpar Not Working
- Didn't help as well.
- Paxil Not Working
- Didnt help and caused side effects I felt like. I became more moody and anxious, I felt it was a waist.
- Positive Thinking Too Soon to Tell
- I try to stay optimistic through all this but it doesn't keep the panic attacks away.
- Wellbutrin Not Working
- Really horrible side effects from this med. I went into a panic mode and didnt feel like myself. I became withdrawed screamed and cried.
- Zoloft Not Working
- Once again, Didn't help.
Open Back Pain
I've had my lumbar(L-Spine) and C-Spine broke. I've been in around 7,8 car accidents. The first when I was 15, we flipped 5 or 6 times the cops said. I did therapy for over a year. I've done chiropractor over a year, and now back to the Orthopedics and Physical Therapy.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
- It Helped While I was Doing Chiropractic work, pain comes back even more intense after finished.
- Flexeril Not Working
- Didn't Do anything!
- Heat Working / Worked
- Use heating pad daily. It helps while on the heating pad. Pain comes back again.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- Taking that now, Thank God, I feel now I'm getting amume to it and need to be switched to Oxycodone but it does help "numb" the pain, not get rid of it.
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- Nothing. But I take it small amounts, I know its good for inflammation as long as you dont overdo it!
- Naproxen Not Working
- Nothing.
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- Am in Physical Therapy again now. It helps, except one of the therapists pulled a muscle in my neck, caused me to go back to my ortho doctor. Couldn't move my head for over a week. Overall, the tissue massage, heat, and electrodes(I also have a portable tens unit here at home) helps sometimes.
- Relaxation Somewhat Helpful
- It still hurts while laying down, without the hydrocodone, I wouldn't be able to sleep with the back and neck pain.
- Stretching Working / Worked
- Although its hard to stretch in certain directions, sideways, and up, i stretch forwards to my feet sitting flat. Hurts to stretch my neck still.
- TENS Working / Worked
- It helps, but sometimes it makes me feel as if i'm having even more muscle spasm's.

My father was diagnosed with bladder cancer over a year ago. It's invading, now he has a blockage in a kidney and it's down in his urethra. He's 70 and cant do treatments, due to a massive heart attack he had in '88.
Open Panic Attacks
I get heart palpitations (Skip-a-beat), Shallow breathing, Shakes. I've been on lots of meds, and I feel like I know what will help, but cant find the right doctor to help. All the other medicines they keep putting me on, give me bad side effects.

- Nothing. Went from .5 to 2mg. Didn't help at all.

- Didn't help. Side effects.
- Effexor Not Working
- Didn't work.
- Paxil Not Working
- Didn't help. End of month, was more moody, ups and downs, irritability worse, anxiety worse.
- Positive Thinking Somewhat Helpful
- I try to stay optimistic.
- Seroquel Somewhat Helpful
- It sometimes helps, especially for the insomnia part, but gives me Bad Night Terrors sometimes and fatigue the next day.
- Zoloft Not Working
- Nothing. Side effects.
Open Insomnia
I suffer insomnia. It's hard to fall asleep, and once I do, I Wake every hour at least.
Treatments
- Ambien Not Working
- No help at all!
- Ativan Not Working
- Nothing. went from .5 to 2mg and didn't help me sleep at all!
- Lavender Somewhat Helpful
- It's a calming aromotherapy. It doesn't make one sleep though through the night.
- Seroquel Somewhat Helpful
- Helps me sleep to low of a dose i still awake it puts me to sleep doesnt keep me asleep. Higher dose i get Night Terrors. Im getting off of it!! Cant handle the bad vivid like dreams that stay with me through the day.
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI've had depression since an early age 11 or 12. Break out in crying, feelings of hopelessness, not wanting to to be.

- Nothing.

- My mind veers off to bad things.
- Paxil Not Working
- Nothing except side effects.
- Positive Thinking Somewhat Helpful
- It's all you have sometimes!
- Prozac Not Working
- Felt CRAZY!
- Psychotherapy Not Working
- They needed nut doctors themselves! Instance:Last one, I told them the side effects of wellbutrin, he wrote back to my regular doctor that I OK'D to be put back on it when I TOLD HIM IT MADE ME INSANE!
- Seroquel Somewhat Helpful
- I'm on this for depression and insomnia, trying to get off of it. I hate the side effects, night terrors, tremors, and waking up and doing stuff without remembering.
- Support from Friends & Family Somewhat Helpful
- I wouldn't be here today without them.

Open Bipolar Disorder
I was diagnosed with bipolar along with other things.

- Didn't do a thing for me. I would take more than prescribed and NOTHING changed.
- Depakote Too Soon to Tell
- Was told to get this filled, HELL NO! After my friend who's son had seizures, i talked to him, he was on depakote for the seizures, made his liver or whatever mess up, im already losing enough hair, and dont wanna gain more weight, and have to many side effects from even the first type psych drugs they put u on!
- Seroquel Somewhat Helpful
- On this for the depression/insomnia etc. Trying to get off. Dont like the side effects, night terrors, tremors, doing stuff in my sleep and not remembering.
- Wellbutrin Not Working
- Made me feel CRAZY!

I was in my first wreck in the backseat at age 15 in 1995. Car flipped 5 times, been in 7 more wrecks, lumbar and c-spine fractures. Chronic back pain.

- It helps kick in my vicodin and helps relax my muscles alot more so than flexeril. Its good for my muscle spasms.
