Great day! Mood
Tuesday, August 11, 2009 | A General Update story

I'm so excited today!  Tonight I get to take my daughter to the Broadway musical "Phantom of the Opera".  It's playing here in Milwaukee through the month of August.  I was lucky around four months ago to get a tip-off that it was coming to town here from New York.  I bought two tickets right away and literally got the best seats in the house, front row, center balcony box seats.

Time to get all dressed up soon and take it in!

Yeah, you're so lucky to live in New York, not only because you have the best team in baseball, but Broadway! Arrgh! Not fair!!!

Wow! That is soooooooooo exciting! I wish I could go. The closest I've come is getting to buy some gothic tribute CDs to the opera, which are pretty good if you're a silly goth boy, and it turns out I am. But I'm betting you'll find the opera itself much better.

    :)

    Have fun!

Thanks Happy! "The Phantom of the Opera" has always been something I enjoyed. From the three movies that were made, I saw all of them when I was a kid, to Andrew Lloyd Weber's stage production. The only version I didn't care for was the movie Weber made based on his stage production a few years ago. I had to agree with the critics on that one, the choice for the guy who played the "Phantom" in the movie sang, in the words of the critics, like a "drunken' choir boy". I had to agree with them. LOL!

Just got back from seeing it. It was as good as the last time I remember almost twenty years ago. Wow!

That's a major thing I miss about my marriage, we always got season tickets to the Plays at Gammage on ASU. I've got many great memories of plays we went to see. My fav's were Phantom and Cats. Glad you really enjoyed it. Hugs and Prayers, Maggie

Maggie, you should try venturing out on your own. I used to be a season ticket holder to our Milwaukee Symphony for years. I decided that even if I have to go it alone, I'm getting season tickets again this Fall. I miss the concerts, the plays and the ballet way too much. So, even if I have to go alone, I'm still going. No more missing out on these things.
