Just started an MS hug this week. It's been four days now and it feels like I''m getting crushed. It's hard to breathe and I'm numb from mid-chest to just below my navel. I hate this. I just hope this is not an exacerbation as it's worse than the MS hug I had earlier this year.

Ouch! hope you feel better... I am just coming off a pretty nasty exacerbation that put me in the hospital for 20 days and sent me home in a wheelchair. It sucks but I am slowly getting better...
I hope you feel better soon! We have gotta have another challenge... not yet though... let me remaster walking first and let you get over your hug!
Take care of yourself and let me know how you are doing!

I sure hope this passes fast Bobby.
Very gentle hug

MS sucks big time! I had an exacerbation a few months ago, and was very upset. I'm feeling so much better lately, and then the hot, and humid weather hit. AC helps much so staying indoors. Just hang in there, and rest. STAY COOL!

Thanks so much for all of your support. I'm sitting here debating how bad this is going to get. Each of the past four days has been progressively worse. I'm a little afraid that it could be another exacerbation, especially with the numbness. I think I'll stay in denial for a bit longer and hope it's just the "hug". If things aren't better in another week or so, I'll give in and call the neuro.
DiHenry, that is so awful, it doesn't look like either of us will get back onto our skates this year. Hmm, do they make walkers with skates attached? LOL!

maybe next year... who knows!!

I hate to show my ignorance but please explain to me what is an MS hug? Does it come with Relapsing/Remitting MS? Sounds damn uncomfortable, I don't think I'd wait a couple of weeks to have it checked out, but then all I have to do these days is sit around and worry about my health. Hope things get better Bobby.

The MS Hug feels like one is wearing a very tight corset around ones chest and on down to about the waist. It feels like some is giving you an all enveloping hug. The last time I had the hug this year, it was just harder to take deep breaths. This time it's been that and numbness from mid-chest to just below my navel. I have RRMS now, dx'd since October, 2007. This is like the third or fourth MS Hug I've experienced since being dx'd.
The upside today is that it is an MS Hug. It started to dissipate late last night. My chest didn't feel as tight and I noticed some sensitivity coming back where it's been numb. This morning, I can breathe much better again and more sensitivity is back. Looks like a five day hug. I think my last one lasted five days, too.
