    • About Me

i'm the mom of 6 kids (biological, step and adopted), and a pug! plus, i'm married to the man of my dreams! had the colectomy on 12/2/08 and (fingers crossed), so far, so good. no hint of any problems "down there!" it's so great not dealing with e.r.s, horrible antibiotics and pain. life is good!

    • Hug

      From lgdennen Wednesday

Hi Sally--Thank you so much for your hug, and for thinking of me. I hope you are doing ok, please let me know? I went to a Pain Clinic for the first time today and I finally have some big hopes that even if they can't figure out what is wrong exactly, they can control the pain. I would love to hear back from you---let me know how you are doing?

Hi Sally, Thanks! I was just thinking of you too. I haven't been here for a while. I am finally feeling quite well. Getting back to so many of the chores I wasn't doing. Cut the grass today for the 1st time. (I had someone else do it while I was recovering.) It has been about 10 weeks and I think my bowels are in pretty good shape now. (Except for stinky gas - good thing I don't have a boyfriend - he'd disappear pretty quick. :) My incision is a little bit bumpy, which I hope will go away, but I doubt it. I am concerned about this DD developing in the rest of my "colon" - I'd hate to go through this again.. Are you feeling well and eating anything you like? Since we really don't know what causes this disease I don't know what we can do differently - do you? thank you for touching base..

Yes, I think I am doing pretty well. Feel only a little crampy today. We are in a similar weather pattern as you since I am just So of Boston. Spending so much time on the couch I don't mind these rainy days. I'll remember the fruit "tip" when I start eating regularly. In the meantime I'll use the softeners. Thanks for your help.

Do you recall having a crampy feeling after your surgery? I am uncomfortable today after a BM.. Its probably normal for this, but I worry..

    • Open Back Pain

hi - i joined daily strength because of diverticulitis. had surgery in dec. and i am ALL BETTER. but, i have had back pain (from an accident - a car hit me while standing in my front yard-) 24 years ago. about 5 years ago, i got out of my car and have been in a great deal of pain ever since. arthritis apparently settled in the L4, L5 vertebra and no cartiledge left. the docs say i have a herniated disc. i live in the boston area and i am becoming desperate to find help.
