my endo visit Mood
Tuesday, June 30, 2009 | A Frustrating story
I had my appt with the endo today. I at first thought it was gonna answer all my questions, but all it did was cause more.  She told me that she doesn't believe I have hyperthyroidism.  So I have to be off the meds for 6 months. I also have tons of labs and ultra sounds to get over the next month or so. In order to get an accurate reading I have to be off my birth control aswell. She said the estrogen is messing up with my levels not a thyroid disorder. That PTU should only be used for a limited timespan. She also said I have to go on a low sugar, high protein diet. I don't like the idea of any of this, but I will do it. She thinks I have a sugar disorder. Kinda like diabeties. To be quite honest I do think I have hyperthyroidism. I have so many of the symptoms that, to me, can't be explained by high sugar. Especially considering I had my sugar checked on a number of occasions and it was normal. I am scared to death of not being on my meds. I don't like this idea at all. My mom is worried about me and I am nervous as all get out. I just pray she is right. I want this to turn out good for me.
