About Me
I am a 27 year old married mother of two. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease early 2007. I have also been diagnosed with Lupus, but am currently trying to figure out the accuracy of that diagnosis as I found out I have Lyme Disease for the second time in my life and it may be that the Lyme was mistaken for Lupus. Who knows? These illnesses are tricky things. All I know is I am feeling pretty crumby. I try to stay positive and with two little ones, though they wear me out, they bring me endless joy and I will be forever grateful for having them for motivation to get moving and enjoy every day. I am also grateful to have this site, it's the one place I can escape to and be among those that understand me. What a comfort that can be.

Know you are in my prayers, I am sorry that your having so much trouble with your insurance. I know how helpless it feels when we know something will work but can't afford it or not able to get it. Your not alone :)

I just wanted you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your children. I answered your post about giving it to your children. My daughter is 17 and the doctors are sure she got it from me being pregnant. I probably got it from my mom. It breaks my heart to know that is how we contracted it but I thank God that it was caught early in her unlike me. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 35, it has already done alot of damage to me but at least if we catcht theirs earlier they can get treatment and heal faster. Never give up!! We have to be fighters to take on this disease. Many big hugs to you and your family. I hope your having a good weekend!

Close Graves' Disease
I was diagnosed with Graves Disease early 2007. I have lupus as well, which I was diagnosed in 2001. It certainly has been a roller coaster, and I simply want people to talk to who know what it's like.
Treatments
- Atenolol Working / Worked
- Helps overall. But I still have a higher than normal pulse and I still have palpitations. Still can't manage a good cardio workout and I do horrible in heat. But it makes everyday living possible and comfortable, so I can't complain much.
- PTU Working / Worked
- The biggest trouble was finding a good dose for me. Overall I feel MUCH better. And I haven't noticed any side effects.
Close Hyperthyroidism
I am hyperthyroid. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in Feb/07 while pregnant with my second daughter. Despite being medicated this entire time, I continue to be hyperthyroid.
Treatments
Open Lupus
I was diagnosed with arthritis and Lupus about 6 years ago. My sister also has Lupus, and father has a lot of Lupus related symptoms along with psoriatic arthritis. He sees the rheumy next week. His sister has discoid Lupus. So it seems to be a family thing and I'm just reaching out.
Open Raynaud's Disease
I have Raynaud's and I wanted to reach out and seek some suggestions and possible treatments as the weather is getting colder and I am dreading the winter.
Open Lyme Disease
I have been diagnosed with Lymes for the second time in 10 years.
