About Me
I've been battling anxiety issues for a while now, probably longer than I want to acknowledge. I had my first real panic attack about a year and a half ago and since nothing anywhere near as bad had happened since I once again dismissed everything. Well now I'm about to move to a new place and the anxiety has kicked in again, in almost a crippling manner, so it's time for me to face up to having a problem and doing everything in my power to correct it and get better physically and emotionally.

Interests
I'm an Information Technology Recruiter. Biggest interests include my music which includes my bass guitar (though I'm not playing with anyone right now), snowboarding (which I need to get back to this season), martial arts (another thing I really need to get back to since it was a driving force in my life until our dojo got shut down two years ago), and I'll confess my PS3 (which maybe I'm relying on too much for stress relief). All the local New York sports teams as well - Yankees, Rangers, Knicks and of course the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants.

Support Groups
Close Anxiety
Treatments
- Xanax Somewhat Helpful
- Lexapro Not Working
- It seemed like I had every negative side effect possible happen to me, this stuff was genuinely terrible and gave me more anxiety.
- Breathing Exercises Working / Worked
- First thing we're taught in group therapy, how to breathe the right way through the stomach instead of the chest and shoulders.
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- No true substitute of course, it's just a matter of staying in a positive mindset which I feel still needs some degree of improvement.
- Meditation Working / Worked
- Make sure I medidate for a minute before I go to work in the morning, always find meditating to be helpful.
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- Something I needed to get back to for two years now. Exercise lowers the stress levels.
- Talking Working / Worked
- Just getting it out there, actually reaching out for help, knowing your not alone. It helps more than people realize.
- Group Therapy Working / Worked
- Very beneficial and a good learning process.
- Aromatherapy Too Soon to Tell
- Well I'm trying it a little, mostly out of intrigue. Just using scented candles for now, but I want to learn more and see if this stuff really helps.
Close Panic Attacks
I'm going through anxiety and stress issues. My first full blown panic attack was last May and after a visit with the Doc I kinda dismissed it when I should of seeked counseling then and there.
Treatments
- Xanax Somewhat Helpful
- I've only used two tablets, doc didn't want me to use it unless I had another attack and it was more for my stomach problems (which I now know are anxiety based). When I took one yesterday it helped, but I'm not sure how much.
