    • About Me

I am currently living with MS and recently discovered that I have Celiac (Wheat gluten intolorance) causing some of my health problems. I am finishing up my health sciences degree and have been deciding between going for a masters in Acupuncture or pursuing a western medical degree like Nurse Practitioner where I can apply holistic healthcare in a clinical setting.

I'd like to try acupuncture. Thank you for your posting. My medical aid (South African) pays a limited annual amount for alternative medicines & treatments. I'll google for a South African acupunturist, unless someone on this site can recommend one.

You just made my day! Please, can you send me a link or the title of that journal/research paper that said it cures cortisol deficiency? I need this to finally prove that fungal toxins can cause lowering of cortisol and that opiates are the only treatment..! Oh my gosh, thank you so much! Keep in touch!

I am so sorry to hear that you have the flu! Best thing I know is to push fluids and take you favorite pain reliever/fever reducer. Take care and let us know how you are doing.

    • Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
      Type: Relapsing-remitting MS

I am currently treating myself only with holistic medicine and plan on writing about my experience.

      Treatments

      Prednisone Somewhat Helpful
It stopped my attack from progressing, but the side effects were horrible, the recovery was still slow, and it induced seizure like symptoms in the affected limbs.
      Swank Diet Working / Worked
Actually, I am on a vegetarian diet similar to the swank diet. I use flax and sunflower seed oil in place of fish oil, but am on an anti-inflammatory macrobiotic diet.
      Anti-Inflammatory Diet Working / Worked
    • Close Body Modification

I have a full back tattoo, septum ring, and I sell body jewelry. I dont have any self destructive habits or anything, Im just interested in body modification.

      Treatments

      Acupressure Working / Worked
Works great. Acupuncture is better though.
      Marijuana Working / Worked
Excellent for mild to moderate stomach pain. No replacement for opiates for moderate to severe pain, but a much safer and less addictive alternative to opiates for mild to moderate pain.
      Morphine Working / Worked
Works nice. I prefer Dilaudid though by IV, and Opana in oral form.
      Oxycodone Working / Worked
Works great. Hard to sleep on it though unless I also take a benzo like Lorazapam. That of course lowers the overdose threshhold so be careful and take only the recomended dose.
      Acupuncture Working / Worked
Acupuncture is great. If I get acupuncture 2x a week I can reduce the amount of oxycodone I take and still be in less pain.
