Organizing! step 6: the basement Mood
Tuesday, October 7, 2008

WOW!

So much goodness came out of last night.

Last week, my beau did most of the work in getting all of his stuff hauled over here. I felt like crap and couldn't do it, then felt worse because I didn't help much and felt that I couldn't. Anyways. It was all sitting in the living room, the kitchen, some in the bedroom, and just a few things in the basement.

The living room was the worst. His bed was propped up behind the couch, blocking one of the main routes around the house and to the front door. Huge boxes, bins, and tubs were piled up everywhere. Piles of coats, hoodies, and clothes covered some of that bed, an entire chair, and half of the couch. There were also some bookbags and duffel bags of things. There were a few other things unable to be packaged up like a stereo and speakers, two small amps, and the guitars.

Last night, we tackled almost all of it. Half of the bed is in the basement. All of the tubs boxes bins bags random things and some of the coats are in the basement! The other clothes are in the laundry pile or already up in the closet. Yay!!!

Only the box spring is left upstairs and it is leaning against the wall and not blocking any paths. Another tv stand thing is up there, too, but my mom mentioned she's thinking of putting a tv in their upstairs living room, so it's up to her. Otherwise, trash.

We were both SO proud of ourselves. We worked as a decently efficient team. I grabbed things and put them at the top of the stairs. He got them and placed them all around the basement. Before we knew it, the whole living room was cleared out.

The next step will be to really sort through all of that stuff and put it into the proper container, label it, etc... My dad will be bringing over some wooden shelves and my mom will probably buy us some new bins of all sizes.

ALSO, the freezer came today!!! Now we can buy all kinds of stuff, like insanely huge quantities of meat at Costco, and when they have a sale on those bertolli frozen meals, we can really stock up. PLUS I can have SO MUCH ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!
