One of my short term goals is to lose 10 kilos (approx. 22 lbs), and I am just 3 kilos, or roughly 6 pounds away! I think I should be able to reach it within 2 - 3 weeks.
It is such a wonderful feeling to be losing weight!! Finally, after all these years I have turned my eating habits around, and I still have the *occasional* chocolate, or a *small* bag of chips!
I am following a low-ish calorie diet laid out by Scottish Slimmers, which is similar to Weight Watchers. I get a daily allowance (for now) of 60 checks, which is 1500 calories. I get 2 portions of fruit for "free", and one portion of dairy product for "free". Also, most vegetables are "free" too!
So within this principle, I can theoretically have whatever I want, as long as I plan for it. It is really working out quite well for me, because whenever I am in the snack aisle, I browse. And I am getting really picky about my snacks! I am not wasting 5 - 15 checks on something I am not gonna love!
I know my weightloss will eventually slow down a little, and the more weight I lose, the less daily checks I get. I am 7 lbs away from "only" being on 55 checks (1375 cals) a day. But I will persevere! This has been really good for me, and I am totally enjoying feeling my clothes fit better and even get loose!! So I am happy, it's going well.
