My name is Karen. I'm a single mom with a 7yr old daughter named Megan. Megan is also a cancer survivor. Sometimes I think she's a stronger person than I am. I find that I'm jealous of her perpetual optimistic outlook on life.

Thank you...She is adorable..
Thanks so much for thinking of me! I have not given up on you guys! I've just been so busy & overwhelmed with things. I've got so much going on. There are just not enough hours in a day. It's something else every day. Just life! Keeping the house going, the kids, paperwork, etc. Everytime I think I'm caught up on things, something else pops up. I'll be back 1st chance I get. Hope you are well! Happy Halloween!
Hello Karen, Sometimes i don't feel i do cope lol. It is hard especially when they both need me at the same time, i have been getting them in the pram and going for a walk.... Isobel seems to settle in the pram and Olivia just takes everything in and usually falls asleep :-)
I find i don't have anytime for anything else sometimes i don't get time to do the housework as i'd like to but i have to put the girls 1st. Sometimes i do cry, have no-one i can turn to so Tom sometimes gets a ear full...lol.
Olivia wants all the toys i give Isobel which is normal but frustrating, Olivia always has to be there taking things or pinching and grabbing her. I can't leave them alone which is tiring.
Its good Megan is good with the baby, Olivia is just so heavy handed, she's no girlie girl lol.
Its good to hear from you....
Have you watched 'The specials'Its 4 young adults living in a house, its really good, 4 of them have ds.
Takecare xxHazelxx
Hello Karen. Thankyou for my message! We are doing ok thanks. yes Olivia tries to pat her back when i feed Isobel lol. she kisses her alot but then sometimes pinches her hands or scratches her but Olivia is still a baby too. Olivia walked 10 steps the other night, i got in on the camcorder, she's not attempted it since after falling a few times lol, she is getting into everything now lol.
How is Megan and yourself? well i hope. great to hear from you xxHazelxx
Thank you so much for thinking of me. I am definitely decompressing!!! It's a wonderful thing. But I've also been crazy busy catching up on things that I couldn't get to. I didn't even realize how far behind on things I am. But it's all good because the kids are in school, except the younger one is only in for 1/2 day which makes it a little challenging - but life has definitely improved. I hope that you are well. Will catch up real soon! Take care!
I'm Karen and I have a 7yr old daughter with Down Snydrome. She is also a luekemia survivor. When she was going thru chemo all her hair grew. With her immune system being so low and the taking the steroids along with other meds she was the only kid in the cancer clinic growing hair and not losing it. After about 2 yrs later it started to fall out again. The topical steroid cream does affect her when it shouldn't.
